Flash Back Friday – Arkansas Fall Foliage

I’ve noticed this week that the mountains around Russellville are transforming into a beautiful patchwork of reds, yellows and oranges.

This is an excellent time of the year to explore the Natural State and enjoy the fall foliage.

Nature’s painting starts in the north, then slowly makes its way to central, and then southern Arkansas.

Time and weather permitting, I have some old favorite spots I’d like to revisit, and yet, there are some new areas, namely in the Ouachita Mountains, that I’d like to explore.

The website, Arkansas.com, now has a weekly fall foliage update.  The complete link is  www.arkansas.com/travel-tools/fall/fall-update/.  As of October 27th, different areas in the Ozarks have reported a 30% to 50% change, while the Ouachitas are coming in at 10% to 30%.  That means that there is still several weeks to enjoy the transformation!
