Russellville residents take time each year to honor veterans with a parade. Folks line up on Main Street for the big event.
Children are seen with tiny replicas of Old Glory.
They wave it proudly as the high school….
..and college marching bands pass by.
They wave at friends sitting with those family members who have fought for freedom…
….and at classmates who want to participate in this festive event!
They return the salute of a decorated soldier…
…and cover their ears as the motorcycles rev their engines!
They might not totally understand the importance of their presence; how waving that small flag, saluting that veteran, or applauding that motorcycle group can make a difference, but it does. They just think it’s fun.
