A great waterfall area to explore after a good spring rain is Pack Rat Falls. It’s accessible from the back of the Haw Creek Falls Campground, Campsite #5.
A stunning trek upstream….
….will take visitors through a beautiful series of cascades!
The rocks can be slippery and wet on this trail….
…so definitely proceed with caution!
In less than half a mile, hikers will encounter Pack Rat Falls, an absolutely breathtaking area!
For the more adventurous, Upper Pack Rats Falls can be accessed by a bit more difficult hike upstream, beyond Pack Rat Falls.
The Haw Creek Campground area is located on Highway 123 north of Lamar. With easy accessibility to some gorgeous venues, it is definitely a viable option for waterfall hunters in the spring!
