Solar Eclipse

It was close to 1:00 p.m.  The crowd had been gathering since before dawn.  We lucked out at 6:00 a.m., finding a nearly empty parking lot mere steps from the historic downtown.

I really didn’t know what to expect.  I had never witnessed an event like this before.  However, in a summer where controversy had dominated the headlines, it was refreshing to see, experience and exchange pleasantries with a myriad of folks coming from all over the country, with varied walks of life.  Kurt set up the camera, allowing anyone who asked to take a closer look at what was going on up there in the heavens.

Perhaps it was the unique nature of this event.  Perhaps it was the perfect weather conditions.  Perhaps it was the festive music being piped over the sound system.  Whatever it was, it felt like utter joy!
