Although we have quite a collection of celestial photos, I always get excited to when Kurt decides to venture out into the wilderness to do a bit of stargazing! The destination was the Arkansas Sphinx, an optimal venue because of little or no light pollution.
Being midsummer, the normally steep, yet short hike was much more challenging due to inordinate growth of weeds and briars over the trail. In fact, the trail was practically nonexistent! He slogged through with gusto, determined to reach the rock structure, a harmonious beacon for a weary traveler!
The laborious part complete, he dusted himself off, removed a few stickers, set up the necessary equipment, took a deep breath, and communed with the stars!
He said it was worth every scratch!
