Road Trip Stop #3 – Hole in the Rock

There are times when, in spite of the fact that the destination is practically in site, a beacon stares the weary traveler in the face, rejuvenating the spirit and inspiring that innate sense of adventure.

One such beacon is the Hole in the Rock.

Located twelve miles south of Moab, Utah, Hole in the Rock is actually the historic Christensen House, a square foot home built inside this sandstone boulder.  Tours are available; however, we just decided to poke around the grounds a bit, discovering Big Foot…

…a very ornate jeep…

…and, my favorite, a nostalgic neon sign!

We shared a few chuckles while roaming the property, which is always a definite plus.    I since read that the home tour is very interesting, worth every penny of the $6.00 admission fee, thus whetting my interest for a return trip!
